West Valley Wind Ensemble
Keeping American Concert Band Music Alive
The West Valley Wind Ensemble is a concert band composed of volunteers who enjoy making music long past their high school and college years. The band started in 1992 with just a few players, but quickly grew into the wonderful ensemble it is today. Programming for each concert seeks to find an enjoyable balance between entertaining audiences, while also challenging the performers musically, and usually includes a Sousa march or two. The band performs all over the West Valley, primarily in Sun City and Surprise, but has played concerts as far away as Wickenburg. The concert season typically runs from October through April, with performance venues often being churches and adult living communities. The West Valley Wind Ensemble is always looking for new locations for concert venues, so please contact us if you’d like to see about scheduling our group to perform.
The West Valley Wind Ensemble is a non-profit 501(c)(3) and is funded entirely by donations and contributions received at concerts, on-line or by mail. Donations are used to fund the costs of the ensemble’s operation. The West Valley Wind Ensemble also supports the community through philanthropic work. A strong relationship and deep commitment to the Valley View Community Food Bank helps support community members in need in the Sun City and Surprise areas. Non-perishable food items are collected for the food bank at every concert along with a monetary donation from the ensemble given at the end of each concert season.
